Tis the Season!! Here in Destin the leaves may not be changing... but the waters are still just as blue, temperatures are ideal (80's), traffic has settled, no waits for our fabulous restaurants, and tons of great festivities! So bask in the sun during the day and stroll around one of the many festivals that come to town during the evening:

For our very first Blog post I decided to give you a list of the top 10 reasons that you should pack up and move to Destin! But first, for your viewing pleasure I am posting a couple of out takes from our photo shoot today :)

Okay, Here Goes...
Top 10 Reasons to Pack Up and Move to Destin:
•1. First (and most obvious), the beaches. Our crystal clear, emerald blue water and powdered sugar sand beaches make Destin one of the most beautiful places in America. Imagine the pure bliss of watching the dolphins play in the sunset from your back porch! No, I'm not exaggerating... just ask Good Morning America.
•2. Destin is considered by many to be "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village"....... which means, GREAT SEAFOOD! Can't get much fresher than catching it yourself, so round up the whole family and book your trip on The Swoop or one of the other hundreds of charter boats located down on the harbor. Not an angler?? Stop by one of our great local seafood restaurants and let them do all the work for you! Harbor Docks and 790 on the Gulf are a couple of my favorite spots that have great food and fantastic views!
•3. Your kids will be smarter... Okaloosa County School District is ranked #1 in the bright and sunny state of Florida.
•4. ...And you may not have to pay for their college education! If your little scholar does their job, Florida will pay up to 100% of their tuition with the state funded Bright Futures Scholarship program.
•5. Still need some more convincing?? Ok then, what if I tell you that moving to Destin may transform you into a better looking you! After all, doesn't everyone look better with a shimmering bronze tan?? And with all of the super fun, calorie burning, recreational activities that Destin has to offer, you'll probably even shed a few pounds. Think about it... you could take up Kite Surfing, Water Skiing, Golf (hey, that counts as exercise right??), Paddle Boarding, Beach Yoga... or if you're more of a "I enjoy long walks on the beach" kind of person then you can do just that! We also have a couple of fabulous local gyms like Destin Health & Fitness Center and Bluewater Fitness.
•6. Inevitably, you will become more stylish and carefree due to the abundance of trendy shops, boutiques, designer outlets, and serene spas. Become a frequent shopper at places like The Destin Commons and Silver Sands Outlet Mall, then unwind at Serenity by the Sea or The Spa at Emerald Grande.
•7. October. Yes, the month. October in Destin is, hand down, my favorite time of the year! The weather is absolutely amazing and... the Destin Fishing Rodeo takes place, as well as, the Mullet Festival (the fish, not the hairstyle... although, you may stumble across a couple of people still rocking it at this particular festival). National Geographic even noticed how particularly beautiful The Emerald Coast is this time of year.
•8. Because you'll never have to pay for another vacation again since you will be LIVING on vacation! Of course you could always book a "staycation" with Compass Resorts.
•9. Although I already mentioned it in #4... I have to give Golf its own category since Brent & Rodney just left work early to go work on their swing (not a joke, nor a rare occurrence!!). Lucky, lucky men... just imagine, this sentence could be about you... if only you lived in Destin! Check out Emerald Bay, Kelly Plantation, and Regatta Bay to give yourself an accurate visual for your day dreams.
